Pilkington Boats Ltd builds Malcolm Tennant Great Barrier Express catamarans (GBE) as well as larger custom catamarans and power boats. The company built the first GBE in 1975. In 1979 they won the Best Finished Boat award for a moulded version at the New Zealand Boat Show. Their production GBEs for class racing were widely exported.
