Jeantot Marine, which became one of the leading catamaran builders of the world, was founded by René Bernard and Philippe Jeantot in 1985. Philippe Jeantot is best known in racing circles as the creator of the Vendée Globe Challenge, the solo, non stop, round the world race. From the outset the company focused exclusively on luxury cruisers in the Privilege line, and over the following years, contributed substantially to building up the world's multihull charter fleet. All models are notable for their superb use of space and materials, both above and below decks, in order to make life for everyone aboard easy and pleasurable. Jeantot Marine was consistent in employing top notch designers, architects and craftsmen, as well as selecting quality building materials. The yachts Jeantot produced have a long service life, even in the tough charter market.
Jeantot Marine was sold to La Groupe SGGR in 1996. The company Alliaura Marine was subsequently formed, which continues to develop the Privilege line.
