Young Yacht Design

Greg Young designs high-performance monohulls and multihulls. His Young 57 design, a luxury catamaran with an unusual saloon space separate from the hulls, is a successful racer. A smaller version, the Young 46, is in progress [Oct 2004].

Young Yacht Design was also responsible for TSUNAMI, a 26 m (85 ft 3 in), very fast bridgedeck tourist catamaran, which was commissioned for daysail operations within the Cruise Whitsundays business in Queensland, Australia. Like Greg Young's smaller cat designs, TSUNAMI minimises exterior/interior barriers and maximises views and light, whilst providing various seating areas and options.

The boats can be operated with a small crew, and the clean, uncluttered deck layout ensures that even less experienced guests can move around easily and safely.

Weight is low by keeping the hulls slim and by using the latest in composite technology. The boats' lines are striking from every angle and the design is bold and sophisticated, yet highly practical.
