TomCat Boats (Ted Strain)

TomCat Boats, a division of Strain Associates Ltd, was started by principals Tom and Ted Strain in 1993 - Ted is designer and General Manager. A couple of years later the first design TomCat 6.2, a 20 ft/6.2 m trailerable day sailing/sports cruising catamaran, was introduced.

The TomCat 9.7 design, a 32 ft/9.7 m performance cruising cat, was developed subsequently. The company's objective is to meet high quality standards at a reasonable cost.By 2004, 35 boats had been sold in North America.
