Reynolds Sailing, LLC (Randy Reynolds)

Randy Reynolds's career started early: aged 22, he designed the R21 catamaran. Between 1978 and 1979 more than 50 of these models were built. Reynolds then shifted focus to the burgeoning windsurfing market. In 1986 he invented the Multi-Sail System for windsurfing sails, which was later modified and licensed to Hobie, where it is standard equipment on the Hobie Tri-Foiler.

In 2000, Reynolds launched his R28 trimaran prototype, but no other models were built. Later, he collaborated with Morelli and Melvin to produce the R33 catamaran design, which will go into accelerated production in 2005.

A bigger version, the R44 catamaran, is on the drawing board and said to launch in 2005.
