The company, founded by Philippe Briand in 1978, has designed over 120 different boats. More than 10000 boats based on these designs are currently sailing.

The very diverse list of successful designs spans America's Cup challengers, super yachts, including MARI-CHA III, and production yachts inlcuding the Bénéteau Oceanis series. Philippe Briand also designed the Bénéteau Blue II performance cruiser catmaran.
