Hugo Myers
Hugo Myers had a Ph.D. in applied mathematics, and was consequently able to approach multihull design analytically. He investigated every aspect of multihulls in great detail in his quest to design boats of optimum performance. His most notable design was the 44 ft (13.4m) SEABIRD that broke the Los Angeles - Honolulu Race record in 1974.
Hugo Myers died in 1988.
