Charlie Cunningham

Address:

Charlie Cunningham is the designer of several successful multihulls including the Austral Cat, introduced in 1965, which was frequently raced in Sydney by well known sailors. The hulls were all made of 'tortured' plywood and featured many go-fast items of the day, such as bamboo fully battened mainsails and forward beams to reduce bow flexing. Another Cunningham design, Quest B, was a contender in the 1967 trials to select the design for the Olympic B Class Catamaran.
