PDQ
With the brand PDQ (the acronym for Pretty Darned Quick) designers cannot be shy about their aspirations to build speedier boats. This shows in the narrow, easily driven hulls of the PDQ line as well as in their modest displacement. Both are consistent design directions resulting in the boats' good performance. Essentially, however, PDQ catamarans are valued as excellent all-round cruising boats, albeit perhaps with the rather more adventurous sailor in mind. The boats are well engineered, solidly built and purpose-designed for serious family cruising. The new PDQ 36 Express Cruiser is more of a speed thoroughbread. It is 20% lighter than the standard 36 Capella, has a bigger sail area and daggerboards instead of fixed keels.
