Haines Hunter
Haines Hunter licensed the design of the the Tramp, the first production boat designed by Ian Farrier, and introduced the boat under the Haines Hunter brand. The Haines Hunter Tramp was very successful, becoming probably the best selling cruising multihull soon after the model came on to the market in 1980, when production rose to 6 boats per week. In 1981 the Haines Hunter Tramp was judged Australian Sailboat of the Year.
The Tramp was closely based on the pioneering Trailertri range of foldable trimarans for home construction, which was the central influence in the rise of a new era of popular multihulls. With the Haines Hunter Tramp professional yard-made Farrier designs were available for the first time.
- The boat model page for the Tramp (or Eagle, as it was branded in the USA) can be found under the Farrier brand.
