Wildfire

 Home-built from plans

Brand:
Tennant
Designed by:
Malcolm Tennant Multihull Design Limited
Description:

The Wildfire is an evolution of the very successful GBE (Great Barrier Express) racing catamaran that was introduced by Malcolm Tennant in 1973. Although the same length as its predesessor, the Wildfire has considerably more interior space, it is lighter, has more beam and carries more sail. Construction is in GRP-foam sandwich, with strip plank foam, or in timber. The hull and cabins are constructed in two halves and joined down the centreline, considerably reducing the size of the mould frames required, since a set of half frames will do both sides of both hulls.
