Wild Thing

 Home-built from plans

Brand:
Tennant
Designed by:
Malcolm Tennant Multihull Design Limited
Description:

WILD THING was the first multihull in the world built using the composite strip-plank system that is now the most commonly preferred method of timber construction for multihulls.

This model is a lightweight racing trimaran with accommodation for four or five. It has a generous sail plan, but the forward position of the floats enable the sail to be carried in higher winds with minimal risk of the lee float submerging.
The use of paper honeycomb as a core material was also pioneered in this boat. The cross beams are of strip-plank construction and the boat is trailerable. Asymmetrical daggerboards are mounted in the amas.
