St Francis 48

Brand:
St Francis
Designed by:
Lavranos Marine Design Ltd
Yard(s):
St Francis Marine
Description:

The St Francis 48 made her debut at the Miami Boatshow in 2001. She is set up to sail easily with limited crew, with full four-corner visibility from the helm, and she tacks through 90 degrees. Although with her weight she is not a performance cruiser, she sails well in all winds. With a choice of two different rigs (standard and turbo, which is 8 ft taller) owners can now opt for a little more speed without compromising comfort.

The cockpit is protected by a solid bimini (which is designed to accommodate seven 5 amp solar panels) and the targa wing, which also holds the mainsheet track, keeping it clear of the cockpit.

The 48 uses the same high-quality materials and workmanship as the St Francis 44 Mk II, and like that model, the 48 has generous buoyancy and freeboard for safety.

The accommodation is similar to the smaller sistership, too. The 48 keeps the four en-suite cabins and the airy saloon, but two different versions are offered with galley up or down. With the galley in the port hull the saloon offers both a a spacious navigation area and another desk, alongside the standard table seating.

Overall the St Francis 48 is a nice addition to the St Francis range, and will satisfy clients who would like more space but similar features to the 44.
