Seaon 96crb

Brand:
Seaon
Designed by:
Seaon AB (Stefan Törnblom)
Yard(s):

Seaon 96 at speed
Description:

The Seaon 96crb is a light-weight cruiser-racer. It is identical to the Seaon 96 (see that boat for a full description), but all components are built in pre-impregnated carbon fibre.

Type:
Cruiser-racer
Multihull type:
Trimaran
Construction:

Epoxy-prepreg carbon fibre construction with Divynicell closed-cell foam core

Structural parts such as beam system, daggerboards, rudder, mast and boom are built in autoclaved pre-impregnated carbon fibre cured at 125 degrees Celsius (technology used by the aviation industry).

Sails and rigging:
  • Rotating wingmast
  • Retractable bowsprit
  • Mainsail
  • Self-tacking jib on a Harken track system
  • Small jib
  • Screacher
  • Asymmetric spinnaker

For overall performance a carbon boom and high tech sails are recommended. To handle loads, and in line with overall quality ambitions, spectra halyards and Harken equipment are used exclusively for sail controls.

Deck layout and gear:

Halyards are led to the cockpit with two multi-purpose, self-tailing Harken two speed winches, mounted on the cabin roof.

Folding by a block and tackle system in less than a minute. The hinges on the folding system are tested for more than 50 tons of design load.
