PDQ 36 MkII LRC
- Brand:
- PDQ
- Designed by:
- PDQ Yachts Inc. (Alan Slater)
- Yard(s):
- PDQ Yachts Inc.
- Description:
The PDQs have a characteristic three-tier look. A lower, wide coachroof spans almost the full beam of the boat, giving good headroom in each hull. A higher central coach room gives headroom in the entrance to the bridgedeck cabin and passage to the two hulls. The boat has earned a considerable reputation as a comfortable and reliable, yet adventurous, family cruiser. The PDQ 36 MkII is especially noted for excellence in construction and in concept execution.
The PDQ 36 MkII LRC and PDQ 36 MkII Classic were launched in 1994, replacing the PDQ 36 of which they are modified versions.
The PDQ 36 MkII Classic is virtually the same boat as the earlier PQD 36, but with 18 or 27 horsepower diesel saildrive engines instead of outboards. Other changes include increased tankage, heavier duty standing rigging and safety bars at the mast. The LRCs are often equipped with a storm jib which is rigged on a baby stay.
