Description:

Designed and built a performance ocean cruiser the, Outremer 40' Standard is much more a speedy passage maker than a party platform charter type of vessel. While being heavier with a 80 cm (2 ft 7 in) wider beam and more accommodation space than the 40' Light, the 40' Standard is still a light displacement boat with slippery hulls and powerful rig. Living room and facilities are still simple and compact compared with typical charter catamarans. Large nets forward minimise weight in the bows and, similarly, the hulls extend well aft of cockpit, keeping the stern light. Concentrating weight amidships gives the boat excellent handling and seaworthiness. The distinctive Outremer sheerline and coachroof curves make the 40' Standard a very attractive craft.
