- Description:
The Line Honours series of cruiser-racers are ocean capable catamarans, exhilerating to sail and with the potential to win races. They are fast and look it. The two over-riding design objectives were maximising power-to-weight ratio and creating an efficient, uncluttered work platform. So, uncompomisingly, performance takes priority over living space. The hulls are very slim to reduce drag, the bridgedeck cabin is low to reduce weight, windage and to allow a clear view for steering. As much of the weight as is practicable is placed towards the centre of the boat.
The bridgedeck cabin has a dinette in the centre and the galley is 'up' and aft facing against the cabin rear bulkhead which is a handy position for the cockpit table. The main berths are on each side of the bridgedeck cabin behind the dinette seatback. This layout centralises weight. To achieve good visibility from the helms, the bridgedeck cabin is not the usual width found on cruising cats. This means that there is very little headroom at the entrance to the hulls, so one has to stoop low to descend. Once in the hull there is standing headroom.
The Line Honours cats have a full width cockpit to give the crew easy access to the boat sides and ample view of the sails. The mainsail traveller track runs in an arc along the cockpit seatback. This system allows the traveller to be depowered without affecting the mainsheet tension.
