The Lightwave 45 is a family bluewater cruiser with a design that incorporates elegant styling and seakindly hulls, with good bridge clearance. Slender hulls, with a beam/length ratio of 1/12 allow fast ocean passages to be made.
The model is built with the same high quality methods and materials and with the attention to detail as the earlier Lightwave 35 and Lightwave 38, which have both been well praised.
The design keeps the accommodation close to the centre of buoyancy to reduce pitch motion and so provide good performance and comfort in a seaway. A large cockpit and aft deck area provides sheltered outdoor dining space. Generous fuel and water tankage permit an extended cruising range in keeping with the overall design concept.
The deck layout and sail systems are configured for ease of handling while shorthanded.Options include choice of fixed keels or daggerboards and upstairs navigation station or upstairs galley.
