Description:

The Lagoon 55 is the first cruising catamaran from Jeanneau Techniques Avancées (JAT), the yard set up by Jeanneau in 1984 to design and develop high-tech competition sailing boats. The L55s were constructed using the same techniques developed by JAT for racing multiuhulls, though they are built for luxury living rather than optimised for pure speed. Accommodation is in 4 double berth staterooms with easy chair, bookshelves, hanging lockers and en-suite heads compartment with washbasin and shower.

Nevertheless, the Lagoon 55 inherits the wealth of technological advantages directly from JAT's blue water racing multihulls, and consequently her performance is excellent for such a stylishly appointed craft.

As she was conceived, the Lagoon 55 appealed to discerning and demanding yachtsmen seeking a yacht with high-end cruising amenities that is gratifying to sail. 20 boats were built and 14 of the extended version, the Lagoon 57, until the model was replaced by the 570.
