Hi-Octane
Home-built from plans
- Brand:
- Tennant
- Designed by:
- Malcolm Tennant Multihull Design Limited
- Description:
Hi-Octane, introduced in 2001, is an evolution of the Blade Runner. It is lighter, longer and has a higher Bruce Number (power to weight ratio) of 1.96 with its working sail. Most of this performance gain is attributable to the carbon fibre aerofoil section rotating mast and the carbon fibre cross beams. The connecting structure is twice as stiff as the alloy of the Blade Runner and three times as strong.
Attention has also been paid to crew comfort. There is standing headroom below and a head and galley.
