Farrier F-82A
Home-built from plans
- Brand:
- Farrier
- Designed by:
- Farrier Marine
- Description:
The F-82 is a folding multihull of advanced design for home-building. It was first introduced in 1996, improving on and replacing the similar F-25. Plans for two versions are available, the F-82A for fast cruising and the higher powered racing trimaran F-82R. Both versions have excellent, sporty performance all-round, as well as being roomy enough for more relaxed cruises. Both versions can also be built with either aft cabin or aft cockpit configurations.
The aft cockpit has the larger seating area and can accommodate six. There is easy access to the stern and the water via a 'swim step.' Above the companionway there is a 'pop-top' in the cabin roof that gives standing headroom when raised.
The wing- sectioned, rotating mast is aluminium or carbon.
The F-82 trailers easily and can be launched on a slipway very quickly, with an advertised trailer-to-sail time of 30 minutes. The towing dimensions are 8 ft 3 in (2.5 m) wide and 9 ft 10 in (3.0 m) high.
