Description:

The Elf is a micro sports cruiser with an exhilerating performance and novel cabin design that gives the accomodation facilities a surprising degree of privacy and flexibility. Developed by Richard and Lilian Woods, the designers who pioneered the micro-multihull class in the UK, the catamaran has a removable main cabin, so that owners can switch between cruising and racing configurations. The "cuddy" houses a galley and saloon seating that converts to a full-sized double bunk. The hulls, which have their own entrances, accomodate a separate heads compartment, storage and two single berths. Her proportionally wide beam and buoyant forward sections coupled with a relatively low rig make her stable and seaworthy. A pronounced knuckle in the topsides keep her dry. Together these factors give her good off-shore cruising capability. Even with the cuddy fitted, the Elf is very fast and is capable of 10 knots to windward and 20 kts off the wind in ideal conditions. She is readily sailed single-handed, with light and well balanced steering, lazy jacks and furling jib.
